St. Luke’s Primary School is a Catholic Maintained Primary
School. The school is a co-educational day school.
The school was opened on the 4th of September 1972 with Mr
Patrick C. Durkin as the Principal assisted by eight other
teachers. Extensions were opened in September 1973 and a
dining room, kitchen and assembly hall were added in September
1977.
The present school building has twelve classrooms, two dedicated
Special Needs rooms, Computer Suite, Art room, Music Room,
Parents’ Centre with Crèche facilities, Gym, Dinner hall, Staff
room and Offices The grass area outside incorporates a sports
pitch whilst the hard area incorporates a fully equipped
playground for use during the school day. There is also a multi
use games area within the school grounds for use during and
after school.
St. Luke’s Primary School aims to help your child develop to
his/her full potential. It is our purpose to give children the
skills, knowledge, self-esteem and practical abilities to go out
into the community and play an active role as happy participants
in society. The Catholic Ethos of the school creates the
atmosphere in which the aim of producing responsible young men
and women can be fulfilled.
