Mission Statement

S

t Colm's seeks to develop a Catholic School community which is well-ordered and within which both staff and pupils can work co-operatively and in mutual respect in the pursuit of all aspects of spiritual, educational and personal excellence.

The school opened on the 1st of September 1974 with Mr John Watson as its first Principal teacher assisted by seven other teachers who worked out of ten mobile buildings.

In October 1976 the first phase of the permanent school was opened and additional mobile accommodation was added in 1978 and 1979, comprising 38 mobiles in all.

In January 1980 work was commenced on Phase II of the permanent building, the first section of which was taken over in February 1981.
