he
best preparation for marriage is daily prayer, weekly mass and
regular confession. Also, in order to facilitate you, we offer
a range of courses. Some couples are put off by the idea, a few
even think that the Church is interfering. In fact, quite the
opposite is true. The aim is to help you plan your own Marriage
and grow closer as a couple. Whilst we do appreciate that some
couples are a little apprehensive, most couples find the course
a helpful and worthwhile experience.
It would be unfair if the Church encouraged people to marry
without any preparation. Therefore, it is a diocesan
requirement that couples preparing for marriage undertake some
form of marriage preparation. Some options are outlined below
and contact details are under the 'Further
Information' tab..
Parish Programme:
If there is a Parish Marriage Preparation Programme, Couples
from, or getting married in, the parish will be informed. Costs
for this course are kept to a minimum.
Accord:
The Catholic Marriage Counselling service organises regular one
day courses. These dates can be obtained from the parish and
should be booked directly with Accord. They also facilitate
special courses for inter-church marriages. |
