Luke's Parish Pastoral Council first met in Autumn 1987 and
was reconstituted in September 2004. It is established
under Canon (Church) law so that parishioners can advise and
help the parish priest in the pastoral care of the parish.
Parish clergy and sisters are automatically members, ‘in
virtue of their office’. In addition there are thirteen
lay members proposed to the council by the Parish Priest.
The term of office on the Pastoral Council is three years
and members may serve two terms after which they must stand
down for at least three years.
The Parish
Pastoral Council meets four times each year. Much of the
work of the council is done in its committees, which are
made up of council members and other interested
parishioners. At present these are four committees:
Communications and suggestions would be welcome on any
