Parish Secretary - Mrs Geraldine Vernon

ince August 2002 Mrs Geraldine Vernon, has been the Parish Secretary.  Geraldine is married with three grown up children and lives in the Parish of Our Lady Queen of Peace (Kilwee).

She worked for the Civil Service for a number of years before working in a number of local schools, including  St Mary's Grammar School, Holy Trinity Primary School. Broom Hall Nursery and most recently Our Lady Queen of Peace Nursery.

Her hobbies include flower arranging and walking.

Registration

arishioners are asked to fill in and return a Registration Card (available from the Presbytery).  The parish is anxious that families feel welcome and existing parishioners are asked to help in this regard.  New arrivals should phone the Parish Office.  Please advise the Parish Office if you are changing address within the parish or moving away from the parish.

Parish Records

S

t Luke’s parish has records of the following sacraments administered in the Church.  Certificates for the above sacraments and ‘Letters of Freedom’ (for Marriage) are usually issued from the parish office within 24 hours.  These are usually requested by the church authorities prior to receiving a sacrament.  THEY ARE NOT USUALLY ACCEPTED BY THE CIVIL AUTHORITIES IN PLACE OF A BIRTH CERTIFICATE OR CIVIL MARRIAGE CERTIFICATE.  Requests for certificates should be made to the parish secretary.

Baptism:              From 19th of December 1971 to present.

Confirmation:     From 24th of March 1977 to present.
   X
       
Marriage:            From 22nd of July 1972 to present.

A record is also kept of those who have been buried from the parish church. 

X        Funerals:                From 16th of May 1974 to present. 

All other records prior to these dates are kept in St Anne’s Parish who may be contacted at ( 028 9061 0112.

Counter Signing of Documents

R

equests for the counter signing of documents usually take 24 hours to process.  A small donation in lieu of parish funds would be much appreciated to cover administration costs of the parish office. Please read the following notes as applicable.

Irish Passports:       If you are not personally known to the priest, someone he
                                            does know is required to confirm your identity.


X       
British Passports:   You must be known to the priest for at least two years.

X       
Driving Licence:     You must be known to the priest for at least two years. 

Note: Doctors, school principals, elected representatives and other individuals can also witness your signature and counter sign the above documents.
